MD Restoration Update

April 27, 2020

Dear valued MD Restoration customer, vendor, subcontractor, and friend,

I hope that you and your families are all healthy and safe.  Here is an update on what we have been up to.

All teams (Emergency 24/7 water extraction, Mold Remediation, Asbestos Abatement, Carpet Cleaning, Repair and COVID-19 preventative and confirmed case deep cleaning) resumed operations today Monday 4/27/20.

Our technicians have taken some or all of the following training before re-entering the field:

  1. OSHA 10 (Occupational Safety and Health Administration): designed to familiarize workers with OSHA standards as well as safety and health hazards common to the workplace.
  2. IICRC Trauma and Crime Scene Technician (TCST) certification course:reviews the process for inspecting and investigating crime and trauma scenes, which may involve blood and other potentially infectious material. The course will focus on the procedures to follow as well as the precautions that must be taken in such an environment. The curriculum is based on the ANSI/IICRC S540 Standard for Trauma and Crime Scene Cleanup.
  3. IICRC-accreditedWater Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) course: designed to provide basic education for technicians and other materially interested parties in the science and practice of water damage restoration. This course will cover extraction, basic containment, and basic mold procedures. This course is designed to teach non-restoration personnel that perform remediation work to give them a better concept of water damage, its effects, and techniques for drying of structures. This course will give residential and commercial maintenance personnel the background to understand the procedures necessary to deal with water losses, sewer backflows, and contamination such as mold.
  4. COVID-19 Cleaning Certification (Academy of Textiles and Flooring) designed by professionals maintaining the highest credentials in the industry such as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Professional Engineer (PE), Licensed Contractor, IICRC Master Water & Fire certifications including use of a Pathogen Disinfection Protocol.

I want to truly thank you again for your understanding and support while we paused our operations to shelter in place to protect our employees, their families and our customers.  We are happy to be emerging from our pause smarter and healthier to provide excellent service to you.  If you need anything from us please don’t hesitate to call.
